For those of you did not get to work. Be sure to enable the SSL and use your full yahoo mail address as username.

The following is the instruction copied from Yahoo......

Important: Do not delete your incoming mail settings

If you are already receiving mail from another mail server (such as incoming mail to your address at your ISP), you will need to add a new POP account. Sometimes this is called a new "profile," sometimes a new "personality," depending on your email client. If your email client only allows you to receive mail from one POP server at a time, make sure you write down your current settings before you replace them with Yahoo!7 Mail settings so that you can change them back if you need to. Below you will find the server settings for accessing your Yahoo!7 Mail.
Server Settings

Incoming Mail Server (POP3): pop.mail.yahoo.com
Use SSL, port: 995

Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP): smtp.mail.yahoo.com
Use SSL, port: 465, use authentication

Account Name/Username: (your_username)@yahoo.com
Email address: (your_username)@yahoo.com
Password: Your Yahoo! Mail password

There is no a Yahoo! Asia option, in my case, there is only: United States, Canada, India, Philippines, Indonesia, Malaysia and Vietnam.
Do you think, Vietnam too work as well, or the other Asian countries? Thanks.

You're looking at the "Home Country" setting under the new Yahoo mail interface (mail.yahoo.com). There are only seven choices there. The change you need to make is NOT in the Yahoo mail menus at all.

You need to change the "Preferred Content" setting for your entire Yahoo account to "Yahoo Asia!" at http://www.yahoo.com (there are over 40 possible choices if you're in the right place). Follow the earlier instructions!

You also don't NEED to specify SSL or any special ports. Defaults work fine with "Yahoo Asia!".

No joy here. I changed the region to Asia. It must have worked because when I went to mail it changed from the address from //us... to //aa...

I changed option to pop server. I could not access it with Outlook with the suggested settings.

So I figured I would forward to one of my pop server accounts. I did and got the verification message and verified it. I sent about a dozen test emails and none has been forwarded.

Any ideas???

Thanks.

I got this to work on three of my four accounts. I'd still rather not go through this, but it is a temporary workaround I can live with. I'll be checking here for an update so that I can get back to BAU. Does anyone know why the fourth email won't go over to Asia?

I tried the switch to Yahoo Asia and it did NOT work for me. Perhaps I didn't switch properly or did not make necessary changes to OE 6 which is the POP I use. Please offer some suggestions if I'm the only one for which this switch didn't work.
Thanks

Ignore previous reply. I forgot to change OE6 account properties to use pop.email.yahoo.com and smtp.mail.yahoo.com. Now I can access Yahoo mail using OE6.

In my case it does NOT work: Neither with Yahoo! Asia, nor with SSL switch ports 465 & 995 and plus.pop.mail.yahoo.com etc...
Just for your interest...

that's ok, i not only talk to myself freq., but in this case, am lucky enough to come thru w/a good reply... :|

happy 2 report that i got it to work now (the asia thingy).

it seems as tho anuj is on the verge of a fix for ypops & that is great...however, for various possible reasons, i think the asia trick is still a good thing to know & be able to use, consequently, posting "what did the trick", for me...

i had stated that i had tried all possible combos in configuering & none worked...well...either one of them didn't work the 1st time, or i missed doing it, or i did, but with another variation on the rest of setup, that needed to be changed...so what did it finally, was under tools>accounts>yahoo mail>properties>servers: i had to uncheck "log on using secure password authentication", while having my password entered, "remember password" checked, and "my server requires authentication", checked.

i am using new yahoo, not classic (i think), and OE6. so not sure if that is an answer for any otherwise. in looking thru this thread, i did not see that 1 point covered, so sorry if it was & i missed it...

nowurtalkin

p.s. 4got2 mention...it works in both tx & rx (send/rcv)
