This works for me, but is it wise to disable 'Use secure authentication' in clients like Thunderbird? Does this mean it's sending clear text passwords? Yeah SSL is selected for security but what good is encrypting transmitted mail messages when your pw is in the clear to be intercepted in the first place?

I created my yahoo account a couple months ago and there is no way that I can see to set the POP settings. So ypops is definitely still needed....unfortunately the reason I came here in the first place is because ypops! doesn't appear to be working any more either. It's been working great the past 4 months but now out of nowhere every yahoo account I have (I have roughly 10) say that I have the wrong password (which i do not, i havent even touched my settings which once were working great). So im completely stuck

Like many others, I cannot change to Asia and I cannot setup POP in my Yahoo mail. Thus this program does not work.

Unless some fix is created, this program has a built in expiration date, as more and more people create unusuable Yahoo email accounts.

Hello,

I'm trying to get Thunderbird 3 and free yahoo mail to connect. I couldn't find this nowhere, I saw 2 or 3 topics (that said something about free yahoo mail & Thunderbird) but no one had replied... See, I'm trying to get the free yahoo mail and I've set it to Asia, but I can't find, in the account options the pop/imap settings. I saw it on the US language version but not on the Asian language version...

If you can help, send my a PM so it want clog up this thread.

Thank you,
Michael

YPOPS! is definitely no longer needed. For the newer yahoo emails that are created in recent years, you'll find that the "POP & Forwarding" dial tab mysteriously disappeared after changing to to Asia content. If this happens, you should go back to Account Settings and change to UK content. Log out then log back in and you'll shall find the POP feature available again. This works perfectly for me.

The settings for POP3 in the mail client are as follow:
Incoming Mail Server (POP3): pop.mail.yahoo.com (use SSL, port 995)
Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP: smtp.mail.yahoo.com (use SSL, port 465)

I hope this help...

Can Anyone put in plain english if they have a way to use Yahoo in Thunderbird 11
I can not find Asia anywhere and I certainly cant find pop access either.

Ypops worked years ago and I will not give them money for a free service that the teased us on for years then made it paid.

I will just still go online if there is not fix

Windows 7 thunderbird 11

cheers mates
