I'm in Texas and all works fine. Are you using the right port for incoming (995) and outgoing (465)?
Don't understand why you'd have to use a server other than Yahoo if you're receiving and sending
just Yahoo Mail.

when i use the SSL ports (995 and 465) i get errors - it won't log into the incoming mail server and it won't send the test message (when i test account settings)

when i change back to default, i still get the error that it won't log into the incoming mail server but it DOES send a test message

very confusing.

the reason i have to change the smtp server is that cox blocks any smtp server but their own

It works!

Thanks gfmpop!

I do have one account that no matter what I do, does not give me an option for pop forwarding. This is probably my most recent account, set up about 4 months ago. All others give me this option in the mail prefs once I set the main account prefs to Asia.

I have exactly the same problem. I still need YPops to start working, at least for that one account.

Woot! It's working! Thank you! :D :D
Now I just have a question and hoping someone can answer. My apologies ahead of time if this isn't the place - not sure where else to ask.

I have a lot of older email in my Yahoo inbox, and would like for my POP program (Incredimail) to only retrieve the recent stuff.
Is there a way to set it up so that it will only retrieve the more recent stuff (like the last couple of days, or even couple of weeks)?
I have tried to do Recent:UserName and it's still going for the oldest stuff first.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

Move the mail you don't want to retrieve in separate folder thereby keeping only the e-mails you want to retrieve in Inbox. Then connect using your mail client over POP and it will download only mails in Inbox.

Thank you - I will try that.

doesn't matter what I do, I can't seem to get this to work -

I change from SSL incoming to non SSL incoming - my outgoing is fine non SSL.

the messages i get when TESTING account settings is the following.
establish network connection COMPLETED
Find outgoing mail server (SMTP) COMPLETED
Find incoming mail server (POP3) COMPLETED
Log onto incoming mail server (POP3) FAILED
Send test e-mail message COMPLETED

I have used my yahoo ID AND my yahoo complete email address as my user name

so the only thing I'm having a problem with is logging in to the INCOMING server - what can I be doing wrong?

i get the same results that way too.

doesn't log into the incoming server - but it finds it - both plus.pop.mail.yahoo.com AND pop.mail.yahoo.com

kinda sad - this is what I do for a living but can't figure this one problem out at HOME! how pathetic of me!

Are you trying to get your mail through Cox or another mail program? I use Thunderbird and it works fine with Yahoo/Asia.

interesting - i switched 2 different accounts to yahoo asia the same day - one on mail classic the other NOT (the one that is NOT in mail classic is the one that's not working) I don't know if that's the true culpirt, as one is using outlook 2002, and the other is using 2007 (the 2007 one is working!)

I switched the other one back to mail classic and tried again but think i might have to wait a while for it to "take effect"
so I'm still waiting for that to be able to test again perhaps tomorrow.

I have another account I'm having problems with too - the same outlook 2007 with a different account - I just switched to yahoo asia but it's not working........is this stuff INSTANT? or is there a delay in this?

For me, it worked almost instantly. BTW my accounts are on the new style Yahoo Mail. Leaving your Outlook programs intact, you could download and install the latest version of Thunderbird and try to access your Yahoo Mail from there; maybe it'll work. Just make sure you use pop.mail.yahoo.com, ports 995 & 465 respectively and SSL everything; that is how mine is set up.

I don't know if this will work universally, but I set up my Yahoo mail to be asia, turned on the pop function in Thunderbird and it is working. Today, I tested and set my account back to Yahoo U.S. and was still able to download and send emails through Thunderbird. I guess the key is getting the option to show at all, which requires you to be in another country.

Can someone else try it and see if they are also successful?
