YPOPs is no longer is able to auto-start from the 'Startup' folder since the shortcut link is now pointing the 'Target:' field to "C:\Documents and Settings\user-name\YPOPs\ypops.exe". The solution is to find the ypops.exe file in the folder C:\Program Files\YPOPs" and set the Target field to "C:\Program Files\YPOPs\ypops.exe". Apply the change to the link and then YPOPs will be able to auto-start. The 'Start in:' folder field remains the same as was originally set since the YPOPs data files are now stored here.

Unfortunately the settings are hard coded into YPOPs 0.9.5.14 at the present time and will change back if you disable auto start and then re-enable it.

Sorry.. This doesn't make any sense to me. I installed 0.9.5.14 and after it didn't work then I installed version 0.9.5.9 again. Now, it won't automatically start up.

These instructions discuss a 'target' field.. In what file? You mention exe files, not config files.. Can you please give more explicit instructions?

Thanks for your help!

Kyle,

Here is the easiest method to fix this. First remove 0.9.5.9, leave the configuration settings. After installing 0.9.5.14, from the Start menu, go to All Programs, Startup. Look for the YPOPs shortcut, right click on it and select Delete. This will delete the bad shortcut.

Next navigate the Start menu, All Programs, YPOPs! right click on the YPOPs! shortcut and select Copy. Now navigate back to the All Programs, Startup, Right click on Startup and select Open. This should open an Explorer window to C:\Documents and Settings\UserName\Start Menu\Programs\Startup. Right click in that window and select paste, this will place a copy of the shortcut you copied from the YPOPs! menu. (If an Explorer window does not open up, then right click on Start, select Open. Navigate down by double clicking on Programs, then find Startup and double click on that. Then paste the shortcut copied from the YPOPs! menu.)

That should fix it.

One note. The Miscellaneous Configuration item "Automatically start YPOPs! when Windows start" will be not be checked. Leave it unchecked. Checking it will put that bad shortcut back in Startup. Unchecking it will remove it again. You new "working" shortcut will is not effect by this and will remain untouched.
