timeout setting 10 minutes... why? and other settings

Postby chemasi on August 30th, 2004, 2:02 am

I noticed in the settings directions that it says to set the "timeout" to 10 minutes long. Why does it have to be set there? What happens if it is set a lower timeout setting?

And if setting is at 10 minutes, how many messages should I set to download?

The timeout setting is actually the time the email client waits for the pop3 server to respond before assuming that the server is not responding anymore and terminates the connection.

The number of emails to downalod is dependent on your connection. If you are on a dial-up set this low. Tweak to to whats best for you
