I just wanted to thanks Ypops for the last couple of years of service to provide yahoo mail. I also tried freepops, but the first time I ran it, it was downloading thousands of email messages and yahoo froze my acct for 24 hrs with some 999 error. I came to the realization that I was spending way too much time trying to get my yahoo mail when what I really should be doing is spending that effort getting myself off of Yahoo! Mail altogether. Gmail provides excellent, reliable outlook access and Ypops probably helped me delay the effort of converting over all of my accounts from Yahoo to Gmail.

I just spent about 1 hour and all (or most at least) of my accounts are now migrated over to my gmail address. I just removed my yahoo accounts from outlook and uninstalled ypops...I must say I feel very relieved.

Thanks again for your hard work on this product.

Not really, but then again, the hook isn't yours. I'm watching the thread and the forum. I actually have a purpose for being here.

I've been having this same issue for about a month.

I noticed that one of the senders that always held things up was MySpace.
Oh, well.

As for the rest, I too could find no rhyme or reason as to what would and would not download.

Also, even tho YPops is now downloading most emails - continuing past the troublesome ones - it's no longer deleting mails from the inbox. This makes it even more difficult to find and deal with the offending email(s).

So, I've adopted the same solution as "doubleb." I've changed all my mail over to my gmail account for now.
I'm glad it's not my main address - most of the mail is Yahoo Group notifications.

I've used Ypops for who knows how long, and I really hope the developers are able to address this issue.

I, too, have logs available if they need information.

If they never find the workaround, then I'd like to say thanks for all your hard work over the years.
It was fun while it lasted . . .

Message number 16 could not be retrieved. Account: 'YAHOO', Server: '127.0.0.1', Protocol: POP3, Server Response: '-ERR message 16 could not be downloaded', Port: 110, Secure(SSL): No, Server Error: 0x800CCC90, Error Number: 0x800420CD

I guess I'm not alone with this problem:-)

0.9.5.9 is the version you want. It was the Experimental version. It is now the Beta.

Don,

Good job, and thanks. Version 0.9.5.9 seems to be working for me. I just downloaded an email that I know would have crashed version 0.9.5.8. I can't be 100% sure that all is well until I use this for a week or so and have a chance to test it on all the emails that I get on my Yahoo accounts, but in all likelihood you have solved my problem.

Thanks again.

andytampa, I used the latest Beta version (0.9.5.9) at Don's homepage - check this direct link:-
http://dbeusee.home.comcast.net/~dbeusee/ypops-win-0.9.5.9.exe

Hope it helps you and everyone else.

Thanks for replying, but dbeusee already told me. I've downloaded and installed it and it's working like a charm so far.

Great to hear that everyone that has installed the latest update has had no problems!

I downloaded and re-installed YPoPs and since its working, Im familiar with it, and it does what I need (Downloading emails to outlook) I am more than happy to start using it again now that its working.

I will also be donating some $$$ via Don's homepage in the very near future (on payday)

I hope somebody is still working on this project. My YPOPs stopped working long ago and there hasn't been any news. It's been a year since I posted that message 3 posts up. The latest version won't even run properly on my computer. It ties up all the resources on the computer. I only came here today because I got an email saying someone added to the thread. When I got here, it was another forum spammer. I keep reporting them and they keep coming. To top it off, nobody is deleting the old posts. These scammers are posting garbage in the forum so Google will find the links and give their sites credibility. Someone could at least make the forum links "no follow" links. Then the forum will be worthless to them, like it's been for us lately.

I removed the program quite a while ago now, approximately 1 year now.

I think it is a dead donkey now, not sure why they are keeping this forum alive though because it is just a waste of internet resources!

It still works part time on one account. Some emails will get through and others won't.
