Sending bulk mail to separate folder

Postby jadams on February 24th, 2007, 11:29 pm

I am fairly new to this program but I already love it. It is such a handy and simple program. The only problem that I have involves the bulk mail. I am using outlook express 6 and want to download my yahoo bulk mail into a separate folder. Right now it is properly downloading all of my emails(bulk and non-bulk) into my outlook inbox. Is there even a way to separate these emails into different folders? thank you!

I just came to the _exact_ same conclusion! Many of us don't take a chance on missing important emails by dl the bulk mail folder. I've found emails from family and friends, those who use a webmail accounts, often enough in the bulk mail folder. I may tell Yahoo that it's not spam but don't want to take a chance for the future when new friends start sending me mail, etc.

How can we get YahooPOPs! to dl bulk directly into a pre-designated folder? I've not seen anything regarding this but all these years it's been such a problem which I finally got fed up with since I've again re-registered with a bunch of yahoo groups that I'd given up a few years back before using YahooPOPs!. I've been spending time setting up new rules in Outlook and am also looking for a spam filtering program, as a first, but if we could get it right at the source via YahooPOPs! that would be great.

All YP! needs to do is precede the subject line of all emails dl from the bulk folder with something like:

[Bulk Folder items]

We can all set up rules in our individual email clients to do the rest!

Please advise and thanks!

I currently use Outlook 2007 to retrieve emails. All my bulk emails either goto my spam folder or junk email folder. My security suite is set to "high" so my inbox is kept clear of junk/spam email.

YPOPs! adds a message header called "X-YPOPs-Folder:" to each message downloaded from the Yahoo! Mail. Messages downloaded from the Spam folder have "@B@Bulk" entered. You should be able to setup a filter/rule in your e-mail client to handle this.
