Yahoo problems? Try this first!

Postby Moosedrool8 on June 11th, 2008, 10:10 am

Hello, I was having the same problem as many posters here. I have 2 Yahoo accounts and they were transferring great then, the other day, one stopped working. When I went into the Yahoo websites, I realized that the account that stilled worked was in the updated version of Yahoo and the account not working was in the Classic version. I changed the non-working account to the new version, and now it works just fine.
SO, before you go and scream at Ypops! and uninstall and reinstall and change major settings, try the easy thing, update your Yahoo version. I had to write this as a new thread because there were just too many threads all saying the same thing and people doing all kinds of work when the answer was simple. Anyway, I hope this helps everyone. I am sure that Yahoo will find something else soon. :)

Most of us have tried this, it seemed to work for a few, while some others found they had a moment of success switching from the new format back to classic, but in the long run, no joy.

I have tried this too and on different PC's too. If you check the .html files in the Ypops directory in my case they all appear to be displaying an error message saying page not found. So perhaps Yahoo have changed naming conventions or something??

That's it guys, seems that latest (June 13th) Yahoo changes broke YPOPS for good :-(
I sure hope someone will have time to fix it.

Great! Don't get panic. I just got back my mail just now by just updating my YahooMail to the latest version. In a blink all my mails went into outlook. Try this option first before looking at other options. :D

i rolled both of my yahoo accounts to the NEW yahoo mail. One account was able to download emails to outlook, but the other one does not download email. Also, i am unable to send a test message from the yahoo account that also does not download email

"some" of us (hanging head) are *dinosaurs* and on dial-up, which the NEW yahell does not work on, thereby forcing us to use the classic, so the listed fix is NOT a fix for us.... boo-hoo

Switching from classic to new didn't seem to help for me. I stopped received emails from one acct on 6/12/2008 3:03 PM. the other acct still works.

I can say this about the servers:

broken server: http://us.mc368.mail.yahoo.com/mc/welcome/....

working server: http://us.mg2.mail.yahoo.com/dc/launch/....

I thought I saw something about this in a thread a few months ago...?

I never had the beta/alpha version installed, only 951. I did try uninstalling/reinstalling and it didn't work.

I still suspect it's a yahoo server thing, depending on which one your account is served by.
