Next steps for YPOPs!

As you all know, YPOPs! is in quite a bad shape currently with most of the features broken, thanks to the numerous changes Yahoo! keeps making to their Mail service. I don't blame them for it!

One of our lead contributors, Don, had to leave the project due to significant work pressure.

So what next for YPOPs?

I'll be getting back after a long break to come up with the next set of releases for YPOPs!. My first aim is to get email downloads to work again, following which I'll work on getting SMTP functionality working again. Do expect a release by next weekend (worst case) with the first release.

The YPOPs! project is not going to be abandoned.

My experience with that particular error is there is a problem with the cookies-username.txt and some of the username.*.html files. Shutting down YPOPs and deleting all the cookies-username.txt and username.*.html files along with the ypops.log file while your there fixes this problem.

i think i figured it out. i went under my docs and settings and found the ypops folder log and deleted what was inside and it seems to be running good.. for now lol. thanks..

Even though I already dropped my Yahoo acct., I hope that it will be temporary.
Just wanna tell you guys that I'm truly appreciated what ypops development team has done so far. I was able to manage my mails nicely for almost a year.

It seems to me that you are no match for Yahoo, there’re always one step ahead of you, and as a result Ypops rarely works properly. Good try and good luck anyway.

this is the error I get on several of my yahoo accounts, several others are still working for now.

Task ******* - Receiving' reported error (0x800CCC90) : 'Your incoming (POP3) e-mail server has reported an internal error. If you continue to receive this message, contact your server administrator or Internet service provider (ISP). The server responded: -ERR message 1 could not be downloaded'

I also have this problem. Why it is working well with some Yahoo's accounts and some other not? Will be some block from Yahoo?

Yahoo! have many difference servers. Which one depends on the domain used, were you are logging in from, when the account was made and other factors that only Yahoo knows. My yahoo.com account was working for receive for well over a year, just recently it quit working. In my case it appears to be a change in the server used.

I wish I could help but the only programming skills I have involve a universal remote control for a TV.
