Mutiple downloads of same email messsage

I am real new to this and have Pops working on my machine.

My problem is that the same emails keep getting downloaded over and over again and in checking all of the options, I have not found an option that allows me to say that once a message is downloaded, it should not be downloaded again.

I am using W2K with Outlook 2000.

Any ideas would be extremely appreciated.
