limiting msgs retrieved to 50 .. of a 1400 total msg inbox

I have an account tha has something over about 1300 messages in the inbox. I set my timeout to 10 minutes. How many messages should I set yahoopops to retrieve so as to whittle away at that total number of messages in my inbox. Or is there any way to do this?
