I have three Yahoo accounts. Changed them all to the new interface. Email now works on all three accounts, except that the first time I try to SEND an email after booting up, I am prompted for the Yahoo password, then get the "mailbox not available" message twice. But three's a charm as they say. I am running the Alpha version of Ypops and the latest versions of Thunderbird/Firefox. So recommend to others, persist in clicking the SEND button.

The text encoding options in Outlook didn't make a difference for me either. But I have not had any problems receiving, just sending. I'm using IE7/Outlook 2002/YPOPS 0.9.5.1.

Looking over my notes I forgot to mention that you need to switch to the new Yahoo! mail. wait about 5 minutes while everything updates on the Yahoo servers then try it.

Upgrading Yahoo Mail classic was temporarily postponed over the last few days :

Yahoo Mail does encode in UTF-8 though - I checked the API doccs form Yahoo Developers Network

Thx Avaggio - you may be onto a permanent winner with UTF-8 as it's a different in your log files - i'll test out for few days
IF YOURS WORKS CONSISTENTLY DON't FORGET TO THANK AVAGGIO

I don't know. Disabling or enabling it the Internet options or your email client doesn't seem to make any difference. My only guess is that YPOPs uses it by default, and I don't know of any way to tell it not to.

As posted by others, the 3rd attempt to send seems to work for me. Thanks for sharing that guys, I wouldn't have thought to keep trying.

I'm using ypops 0.9.5.1, WinXP SP2, and Outlook Express. I was on a MC server with classic email and could not send or receive. After switching to the new interface, I am on a MG server. I can receive normally, and send seems to work after the 3rd attempt. I did also go into the Internet options control panel and disable the UTF-8 features as suggested by others, but I don't know if that had any effect.

I'm very happy to be back up and running. Thanks everyone!

Looking forward to Alpha 2, whihc should be more stable & interact more smoothly on both interfaces (POP & SMTP)(i.e. your email client & Yahoo mail via your web browsrer of choice) as the UTF-8 issue may not be 100% down to your email client \ Internet Explorer Settings
