i can't get yahoopops to start!!!

i'm reather new tolinux but i managed to install yahoopops 0.4.5 on red hat 8. it compiled without errors with default settings, but i can't get it to start. i found 2 yahoopops files!!

1 is in /yahoopops-0.4.5/src/ and it outputs "error while loading shared libraries: libcrypto.so.0.9.6: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory" when i run it.

the other is in /usr/local/bin/ and it outputs "The necessary preferences file was not found.Please copy the sample preferences file yahoopops_samplerc given along with the distribution to as yahoopopsrc".

i've edited yahoopopsrc which was in /usr/local/share.
i foaund that most of the options are the same asa the ones in the windows version except the "bind to ip: " option, or there is no need to specify the ip to which yahoopops should bind?!(this is a problem for me because i installed it on a network server which acts as a router too)

please help!!
