Go back to 5 is your email is not deleting

Postby mjnelson99 on September 19th, 2004, 6:45 pm

I just installed XP SP2 and my email was not being deleted with YahooPops 6.
I tried uninstalling and putting YahooPops 5 back on. Now my mail is being deleted most of the time.
Give it a try till their Tech people can come up with a fix.

0.5 doesn't delete mail anymore either

Postby RomanII on September 21st, 2004, 7:35 am

I also had this problem with 0.6 and went back to 0.5 with success; however, starting a couple of days ago or so, my mail is no longer deleted with 0.5 either.

Going to 0.6 didn't solve the problem. In fact, it created a new one.

I just put in V .5 and now it deletes...

Postby ZombyWoof on September 21st, 2004, 3:53 pm

I started with V .6 because that was the version that was out when I first learned of Yahoo POPS. But lately it stopped deleting from Yahoo like for a lot of other users. So I unistalled it and put in V .5 and it worked. At least I have both downloads so I can always switch around if I have to.

Install Daniel's .6 beta linked in the sticky faq.
It fixes the delete problem.

What is this "sticky FAQ"?

I looked in the FAQ's and couldn't find any downloads. And in the download area I couldn't find any that are betas.

I downloaded it....

But when I tried to install it all I got was a message that it was missing the LIBCURL.dll file.

Zomby, your nickname seems to be affecting your mental power in a bad way. Quoting from Daniel's site (you get to it by clicking on the link you were provided in the post above yours): " If you haven't got it yet, you will also need an updated cUrl library - important for SSL users".

By the way, what you download from the site is not an installation image (hence, you are not supposed to install it) but a replacement for a file with the same name from the latest release.
