downloading multiple times

Hi all..
I have just installed the new version. I previously had issues of outlook not downloading any messages at all. now with the new vesion, I am not getting all of the new messages. If I do get a few, the times are differennt than on my yahoo account. Now on mutiple times, outlook is loading many old messages. it is loading some of the messages up to 5 times. some of the old messages are many months old. Is there anything I need to change ? or is this a common issue with the new version.
