Are there many actually successfully using ypops in Linux?

Since we must compile it and configure it manually.... Will someone please make a script or a "sticky" to post here on how to do it on Ubuntu?
Thanks you for this awesome money and time saving tool.

My ypops has been working very well for a long time now. My current ypops was compiled on feb. 4 2004.
Unfortunately, since last week, it is crashing when I request mail from my @yahoo.com account. If I request email for my @yahoo.ca account it works fine.
Is anyone else having this problem?

I'm no Linux expert but I have a SWAG for you - log into your .com account & make sure you don't have a Beta Mail invitation waiting for you. It will stop YP from working...

If you are connecting to a Windows based machine, check the ports that are set up there. When I d/l the latest version of Ypops for Windows, the ports were set up as 110 incoming, and 25 outgoing. I changed those settings to 5058 and 5059, respectively. I did this just to keep in sync with the old standard port settings.
I had to puy in my passwords the first time, as usual. This worked PERFECTLY for me.

:D Good luck everybody!!!

P.S. If it is set up on a windows machine, be sure to open the ports and set access to the Ypops program.

P.P.S. Another idea is if you and a friend or twenty have a website that will allow you to run Ypops on it, you can use that as you Yahoo mail Ypops location!
