Already recived mails are coming again

Postby Mohit on September 17th, 2004, 2:22 am

Hi Friends
Me and my friend are facing a new problem for last two days. Even after downloading the mail into outlook express, mails still resides in yahoo inbox. This results in redownload of the same mail.
So unless and untill we don't manually delete the mails from yahoo inbox using web , the same mails keep on coming again and again.
Kindly look into the matter and respond asap.

Thanks

Mohit

I experienced the same problem. I downloaded Daniel Berg's beta update and all is well once again!

I am having the same problem.

I tried to go to http://daniel.bryg.net/yahoopops.php but the site won't load for me. Where do we get this update?

I had the same problem with my Inbox not being cleared down.
This link and patch both worked a treat for me. :D
Thanks very much Daniel!

Right-click the YahooPops icon on the system tray.
Select "receiving e-mail" on the e-mail preferences menu.
Click "Download only unread e-mails" on the Download Email Category.

This solution worked for me. Hope it works for you as well.

I went to the http://daniel.bryg.net/yahoopops.php and downloaded the YahooPops.exe file and ran the file. I got a message telling me that the libcurl.dll file could not be found. I then downloaded from the link, cUrl library, on that page, replaced the libcurl.dll file in the YahooPOPS directory, and tried again to run the YahooPops.exe file. This time I got a message telling me that the libeay32.dll file could not be found. I finally gave up, uninstall version .06 and installed version .05 and this seems to have fixed the problem. The messages are now deleted from Yahoo after I download the files to Outlook using YahooPops.

Are you putting that new .exe into your program files folder? "C:\Program Files\YahooPOPs". Because I downloaded it to my desktop. I recieved the same error trying to run it. I put it in that directory (and replaced the previous .exe) and all is well.

This problem began happening when I installed the newest version of Thunderbird (release a few days ago) 0.80. Is this related at all?

I replaced the Yahoopops.exe file like you did and this seems to have fixed the problem. I left the existing libcurl.dll file in the Yahoopops directory and the program seems to be working okay for now.

Me Too. Old emails weren't being deleted.

I have Windows 98se, Mozilla 1.7.

I went to http://daniel.bryg.net/yahoopops.php, and clicked on the link experimental build #ltd0915a, which downloads a file named "YahooPops.exe."

I replaced my old yahoopops.exe file with the new one.

Now, everything is working fine. The Inbox, Trash, and Bulk are emptying fine.

Thanks. It's nice to pop3. And it was good to find the answer waiting here on the forum.

I downloaded the same beta from Bryg's site, but now ...

Postby Daedalus on September 19th, 2004, 1:49 pm

my e-mail client told me "the server conection interupted 0x800CCC0F"
I'm using XP sp2 and MS Outlook 2003 sp1, the configuration of the windows firewall enables y!pops to operate w/o restictrions, before install the beta the only problem was that the messages are keept in the inbox.

Same problem here

Postby ladybeldin on September 20th, 2004, 7:34 am

YaHell was doing the same for me..at one point I was getting 15 emails all the same, I have a lot of groups I belong to on yahoo so you can imagine the hell I had with bouncing since it was downloading them to my incredimail as ypops was set to do, but also leaving them all on my yahoo server as well..I've racked my brains trying to figure out if i screwed up and messed with a setting again, but wasn't the case..after installing version 6 of ypops up until last week I had not had any probs with this at all..now of course I've completely removed version 6 and downloaded and installed version 5..I hope this fixes the problem..since when reading on here what you all did I kept getting file not found..dll missing and I'm not a puter person as far as knowing how to fix that..so for now I'll try this and see what happens..love my ypops, makes getting my emails so much more fun, but this mega mail load is for the birds with yahoo..I'm just glad to know right now it wasn't me having a major blonde moment and others were having the same type problem with their yahoo accounts..thanks everyone!

Still having trouble

Postby tlies on September 20th, 2004, 8:50 am

I'm using Mozilla Thunderbird. Had the same problem with duplicate messages. I tried installing v.5, that had some effect but didn't solve it.

Installed the fix you guys were linking us to. Still having trouble. I get an error message from Thunderbird saying "The RETR command did not succeed. Error retrieving a message. Mail server localhost responded: message 1 could not be downloaded."

Any help guys? I'll keep tinkering but some feedback would be great. This isn't exactly and area I know too much about.

Thanks.
