0.6 doesn't stop after downloading specified number of msgs

I just returned from 0.5 to 0.6 because 0.5 stopped deleted mail, and I encountered a new problem with 0.6. After downloading a specified number of messages, 0.6 apparently didn't want to stop at that because my email client displayed the following error message:
"The RETR command did not succeed. Error retrieving a message. Mail server localhost responded: message 6 could not be downloaded"

Acknowledging that error message resulted in YP's terminating the session.
